PlayStation Plus December 2025 Leaks: Is Sony Finally Adding "God of War Ragnarok"?

PlayStation Plus December 2025 free games predictions

It’s the time of the month again. The PlayStation Plus Essential unveiling is on the way, and with it being December (a festive month) we are expecting big things.

Sony always has a “banger” to end the year. I mean, what about when they blessed us with Mass Effect Legendary Edition?

Leaks and wishlists are already swirling on Reddit and Twitter. If we use Sony’s past, and current buying habits as a predictor, these are the most likely games to appear on the December 2025 roster.

1. The Big Rumor: God of War Ragnarok

Kratos is back and it’s been 3 years. With the PC port already having flying off shelves, it just makes sense for Sony to finally put the base game in either Essential or Extra.

  • Likelihood: High.

  • Why: Sony needs a big win to justify the recent price hike of PS Plus subscriptions.

2. The Multiplayer Pick: Suicide Squad (Kill the Justice League)

Okay, hear me out. The game flopped at launch. But live-service games frequently get second lives on PS Plus (see: Foamstars).

  • Likelihood: Very High.

  • Why: Warner Bros needs players to populate the servers. Giving it away for free is their last resort.

3. The Indie Gem: Hades II

Now that it’s out of Early Access, the full release would make a great holiday gift to which you could add in original Hades or a demo of Hades II.

The "Hardware" Reality Check

That’s all well and good, free games are always nice, but a lot of players are certain to be disappointed when they turn on 60 FPS mode for their base PS5 launches in the future and realize it can’t hang with the newest titles by not even getting to run some of them at 2021 levels. But is the gain in graphics fidelity really worth it?

Conclusion

We expect the official announcement from Sony on Wednesday, November 29th. Until then, keep your fingers crossed for Kratos.
