5 Safe Registry Tweaks to Boost FPS on Windows 11 (2025 Gaming Guide)
You have debloated your Windows 11, but your games still feel stuttery. The problem might not be your hardware, but how Windows manages resources.
By default, Windows is optimized for battery life and office work, not gaming. In this guide, we will edit the Windows Registry (Regedit) to force the OS to prioritize your games over background tasks.
Warning: Always create a System Restore point before touching the Registry!
1. Disable Network Throttling
Windows intentionally limits network traffic for non-media tasks. For online gaming, we want full speed.
- Path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile - Value:
NetworkThrottlingIndex - Data: Set to
ffffffff(Hexadecimal).
2. System Profile Priority
Tell the CPU to give maximum attention to games.
- Path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile\Tasks\Games - Change
GPU Priorityto8. - Change
Priorityto6. - Change
Scheduling CategorytoHigh.
3. Disable GameDVR (Latency Killer)
Even if you turn off Game Bar in settings, some background services still run.
- Path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore - Value:
GameDVR_Enabled-> Set to0. - Path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GameDVR - Value:
AllowGameDVR-> Set to0.
Pro Tip: Combine these tweaks with my previous guide on How to Debloat Windows 11 for maximum performance.
